Reusable Bags

Last night was our bag making night. Despite the fact that I had lost the fabric it all came together somehow in the end.

We made nine complete bags and there are a few there that just need handles sewing on. Not bad considering there were only seven of us and strictly speaking I shouldn't count as I didn't seem to do anything.
I really enjoyed the evening. It was just what I needed to take my mind off other stuff. Hopefuly we will do it again in the not too distant future.

They look really good, did you follow a pattern, or did you make it up?

I've been thinking of doing something similar, so I needn't accept a plastic carrier bag when out shopping for small items.

I was inspired by the morsbag site http://www.morsbags.com/ which I think has a pattern on. We didn't use a specific pattern. We just cut round a large rectangular placemat for the body of the bag and used the oddments for handles.

It is good to not have to accept carrier bags when out shopping. It's such a simple thing to do once you get into the habit of remembering to take your reusable bag to the shops with you.

I've really cut my carrier bag usage down as I always take my reusable ones. There is really no excuse..ps wish I could have come :)
