It's very touchy feely. The reformed plastic tiles are quite strong but flexible. I guess you could use this technique for making all kinds of things - plastic bags which are durable, place mats for cats - there are endless possibilities. I like it!

Fusion
Take three plastic carrier bags, an iron, a scrap of material and some thread. Put them all together and complete with original handle from bag. Voila!

I like that. How did you do it?
I cut the handle part off the carriers then laid them flat on sheets of paper. I placed another layer of paper over the top of them and then ironed them for a few seconds on a high heat. That was it. I was left with a big square of flexible plastic. Really quick and simple. The paper stuck in places as I just used plain paper - perhaps greaseproof or something like that would have been better.
Very interesting! I like the way that looks, quite modern. It would be fun to think up some uses for those tiles, and they look great.
I am so glad you finally had a plastic success, thanks for letting me know! I am going to put a link to this in the Unplugged Project-Plastic, Mr. Linky becasue it is such a great idea!
